Day 77: Coffee with Jack and Arlene This morning Stacie and I got up and strolled down the hill to Jack and Arlene's for coffee. It was really great to sit and talk to them. So many names I hadn't heard for years. Some of them for decades! The one cup turned into three, or maybe even five? I know I had lot's of energy and took the short cut trail straight up the hill! The photo for today was taken late last night. I wanted to do some startrails being we were in some of the best dark skies around, but it was almost a full Moon. Doesn't work so well when the night sky has a Sun reflector beaming the daytime light from the other side of the world. I set this up on the dark side of the house and managed to get a few minutes in before it was all washed out by the Moon...
Day 78: Oops I've been a little lax on the stories that go with my photos lately. The craziness of summer will do that and like anything else, life gets in the way. I really like writing the stories the way I do and will do my best to get back on track with them. This weekend I am volunteering as a photographer for the MS Society of Canada for their "Biking to the Viking". It's a 160 km ride from Stonewall to Gimli and back. We lost a childhood friend to MS this year. You can read about it on Day 9 of this blog. I can see this being the first of many times I will be spending time for this cause in the future. The photo for today is actually from the other day. Two trucks collided on a stretch of highway west of Kenora. I would have taken a photo of the truck in the ditch on the other side of the road, but there really wasn't much to take a picture of. The bad news, three people taken to hospital. The good news, all three had NON life threatening injuries...
Day 80: Biking to the Viking-Day 1 This is going to be a very short post. I could go on about what I saw today and even more about what I captured on the camera sensor. I don't think I'm emotionally up to going on about my experience today so I'm going to sum it up nicely for anyone who reads this... WOW... JUST WOW!
